Passenger Project: Ann Arbor/Rio de Janeiro

The BSAG Passenger Project intends to strengthen the ties between these two cities, so different and geographically distant, yet both in their own way lovers of music, art, culture and diversity.

We offer an interchange project between these two cities to provide both a cultural and learning experience to visitors.

It will be a pleasure to have you as one of our Passengers on a voyage of language learning , culture and fun.

Ann Arbor

Located in the state of Michigan, Ann Arbor offers a rich cultural life. As a university town, it is both cosmopolitan and dynamic, without being congested and ‘touristy’.

Cinemas, bookstores, cafés, theaters, music – the best of jazz, blues and pop.
This is a place conducive for students the world over to trade experiences and knowledge.

Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is famous for its natural beauty and the friendly cheer of its people, but it is much more than this!

For those interested in music, art, history, Afro-Brazilian and indigenous culture, candomblé, umbanda and so many other rhythms, Rio is also the ideal place.

Becoming a Passenger

All Passengers will be interviewed to assess their language level and specific interests, allowing all to take maximum advantage of the project designed for them during their stay.

Steps for forming groups:

1 – A quick language level test of English (for Brazilians going to Ann Arbor) or Portuguese (for Americans going to Brazil)

2 – A short questionnaire on the interests of each Passenger (music, theater, dance, sports activities, museum visits, contact with teaching institutions, study programs in areas of interest, etc). (download the questionnaire)

For unaccompanied students, the minimum age to participate is:

- Ann Arbor: 21 years

- Rio de Janeiro: 18 years

Based on this interview, we can prepare a customized program for each Passengers.

If your main objective is to learn English or Portuguese, click here for more information.
